5 Good Reasons To Wake Up Early

Psst! They aren’t about the hustle

I am so not a morning person. Everyone in my family knows there is a “don’t poke the bear” rule when it comes to me in the morning, at least not until I’ve had my first cup of bullet coffee, but even then, it’s best to tread lightly.

I never understood people who woke up like “BING!” all chatty and happy, ready to launch themselves into the day. I thought something was seriously wrong with them. That’s not normal, and if we’re rooming together say on vacation, there are some strict guidelines: No talking until after the first aforementioned cup of bullet coffee, and even then…

I am also a bit of a night owl. I do most of my writing and creating at night when it’s dark, quiet, and I don’t have the distractions of the day. That means I go to bed rather late so I sleep rather late.

However, that also meant my day was screwed. I wouldn’t get online and start work until almost noon. Sure, I checked emails to see what was going on in the world and threw up a few social media posts, but that was about the only semblance of work I performed in the morning. It wasn’t exactly what one would call productive.

Another issue I had was all of these demotivating messages of “you gotta wake up at 5 am and grind, grind, grind if you’re going to succeed.” Maybe that drill…
