How I Made A Shit Ton of Money Overnight
Not really. There’s no such thing.
If you have an online business, chances are you’ve seen posts by fellow entrepreneurs that go something like this:
“I just launched my offer last night and have made $30,000 in less than 24 hours with no ads, no emails, and half a brain.”
This leaves those of us who actually have a whole brain scratching our heads. At first you’re like “Wow! That’s incredible!”
Then you’re like: “How the F%&K did they do that??”
I’m here to let you in on a dirty little secret, my friends: It’s all smoke and mirrors.
On average, it takes two to three years for a business to become profitable. Just because someone made $30k in sales in one day, it doesn’t mean they are profitable. The could (and likely do) have overhead such as staff, office space, internet, phone, shipping, and utilities. They still have to pay taxes on it. If they did spend money on ads, then they have to slice ad costs off the top of that number as well. Then they need to factor in other services such as subscriptions, e.g. Clickfunnels, MailChimp, LearnDash, Keap, LeadPages, web and email hosting, etc. These costs add up on a monthly basis, so when all is said and done, they may be just breaking even or in the negative.
