If you have anything to do with coaching, then you have been a victim of the “fake friend request” syndrome. You know when someone sends you a friend or connection request, you accept it, then they start DMing you with their offer or sales pitch?

They don’t know you from Adam. They haven’t taken the time to get to know you. They just send you a message with “Your background is impressive and you seem like a great fit for an opportunity I have…” Ummm, do you even know my background?

Or: “Quick question Kelly — are you looking to attract new business online in 2021?” I actually responded to this one only to receive another note about their live 2-hour training sharing all their best tips and insights around running your business online. Er…way to show you care, buddy.

Or “Heyyy Kelly — happy holidaysss! How are things with you? So i’m launching a challenge on the January 1st…wanna hear more?” Call me old fashion, but any overly casual, cutesy note with terrible spelling and grammar and zero information on this “challenge” or whatever they are attempting to drag me into is an automatic delete. These types of sales tactics just scream “ME ME ME! It’s all about me! I could give two shits about you as long as you are
