I am a copywriter to the very core of my being. You could even say I’m a purist.

I’ve been writing since 1979. Yep, I am that old. My grandmother was a grammar and English Lit professor, so I had no choice from a very early age to not only have a deep respect for the written word but to learn how to use it creatively and wisely.

Words matter.

When I had my tech PR agency, turning complex concepts into engaging narratives was a no-brainer. And because I've worked in the technology industry for almost 25 years, I have seen lots of technical evolution.

When ChatGPT first hit the scene, I thought it was cool but didn't think much else about it. But then there came the realization that AI is here to stay.

Can an old-school copywriting relic like me adapt? Will I survive or be replaced? Is it a tool or a threat to my career, livelihood, and well-being?

I started seeing AI as a fierce competitor and one I’d better keep up with or die.
