Stop Fighting Negative Emotions

In this day and age when self-help is all the rage, we are constantly being told to be happy; let go of negative emotions; focus on the positive. Get into alignment with your inner being and improve your vibrational standpoint.
While that’s all well and good, and I do believe being happy and positive is vitally important for your mental, emotional, and physical well-being, it’s not always easy to be the personification of pure joy.
Shit happens in life. It’s next to impossible to go through something traumatic and not feel it. Maybe you’re having money problems, or issues with an important relationship, or a health concern. It’s incredibly challenging to look at your dwindling bank account and receive calls from badgering creditors, and not feel the fear, worry, or pain associated with it. Why? Because it’s a threat that’s looming over you- threat of not being able to pay your bills; threat of losing your home, threat of not being able to provide for your family.
When we feel threatened, our survival instincts kick in. Our brains have evolved over thousands of years to focus on short-term survival in a dangerous world with limited resources.
