Why My Text Posts Get More Views Than Posts With Photos & Videos
No, the algorithm’s not broken.
When I received a notification from Meta that my text posts were getting 92% more views and engagement on average, I nearly fell up out my chair! 92%!
Here I am, shooting all these videos, posting Reels, creating Canva graphics, Carousels, and taking endless selfies, trying to create that magical scroll-stopping image or meme that would be the thing that finally moved the needle.
And all I needed to do was create copy — literally as a copywriter?
I went through my Meta metrics, and my text content over the past 28 days has gotten more views and interaction than videos or photos.
How, in this day and age of YouTube, TikTok, and algorithms that favor rich content, could boring old text posts get more views?
This data was so perplexing, I had to investigate!
What was it about these text posts that won over other types of content, especially when it seems people don’t read these days?
