I grew up with guns. My parents were in law enforcement. I didn't buy my first gun until this year, a Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec. I've been in training ever since and continue tactical defensive handgun training and situational awareness and response training. While I consider myself more of a hobbyist and I enjoy the sport of it, my friends often wonder why I do so much training. My answer is simple: If you're going to own a gun, you better know how to use it safely, responsibly, and if needed, effectively.
