Understanding the five mindset blocks that are holding you back from it
I’ve spent a lot of time working with the media on behalf of my clients. And even though I had the skills and relationships to secure coveted media opportunities in leading national outlets, I was never one to put myself in front of the camera. I felt that it was their opportunity to shine, not mine. As a PR professional, I developed the mindset that getting press was for everyone else, not me.
I was the behind-the-scenes person who made it all happen without being noticed or heard. I made other people’s dreams come true. I put them and their businesses in the spotlight. Why? Because I didn’t feel I was deserving of that type of attention.

One of the reasons I chose this negative belief system was because I didn’t feel like I had the charisma. And, I was paralyzed by this thing called Imposter Syndrome. I feared if I put myself out there, then I would be found out. Everyone would know I was a phony.
Imposter syndrome happens to the best of us. The likes of Tom Hanks, Maya Angelou, Serena Williams, and Starbucks billionaire Howard Schultz have all admitted they suffer from it.
But Imposter Syndrome isn’t the only limiting belief system that holds us back from shining…
